Yesterday? Magnificent. Spectacular. Glorious. The birds were singing. Not a cloud in the sky. Temperatures in the eighties. The grass seemed to get a little greener overnight. And I finally got new contacts. Bye-bye pink eye! Life is on the up and up. I promise to show my eyes again. I know the sunnies have been on repeat for over a week-and-a-half. Believe me, it wasn't fun. Putting on mascara again never felt so liberating. Ah, the little things.

You know what else is liberating? Putting on sandals that haven't been worn in months. Digging them out from under the pile in my closet and slipping them on with this maxi skirt literally had me skipping down the sidewalk. This time of year and days like yesterday just make me happy. Plain and simple.
What doesn't make me happy? Every single time I post an item purchased from Forever 21 it's sold out before I can share it with you guys. Drives.Me.Nuts. I got this skirt just two weeks ago and it's already gone. So, from now on, when I do buy something from there I am going to immediately add it to my "SHOP" tab up above. So, check back often because the good stuff from F21 doesn't seem to last long and this one is oh, so good. It's already been doted on a couple of times since it's arrival. I got a similar one from Forever 21 last year that also received an immense amount of love. I am a sucker for elastic waists, bright, abstract prints and anything with the word maxi in it (when it comes to clothes).
On a styling note, some of you girls may think you are not tall enough to wear maxi skirts. I beg to differ. I actually pulled this one past my belly button (Steve Urkel style) and tucked in a sleeveless sweater. It actually gave the illusion of a dress. In fact, Ross said, "I like your dress today, babe." I said thank and quickly corrected him. I wanted to wear flat sandals, so I hiked it up a few inches and viola, it wasn't dragging the ground. If I want to wear wedges next time, I will scoot it down just a tad.
Yes, the bad news is this skirt is long gone online. The good news is I found some great printed maxi skirt options all $100 or much less. If you buy anything this spring season, I would highly recommend picking up a few maxi skirts. I personally do not own enough of them and plan on adding a few solid colors to my closet soon.
