Happy Labor Day! I hope you are relaxing on your couch, in a pool or on a lake, eating BBQ and of course catching up on blog reads.
Just to be clear, you are not seeing double from Friday's post. Yes, I know it looks all too familiar to what I posted a few days ago, but I told you guys that I was in the mindset of black and tan and that's what I stuck with all weekend when shopping. Neutrals. Mixing. Basics. Staples. Classic. That was my goal.

I haven't been shopping like this since I don't know when. Let's just say I might have had a little peer pressure from my mom and sister. I need someone to blame it on, right? The Labor Day sales and fall styles sucked me in and held on tight for five hours straight. Even though we are still experiencing summer weather, I couldn't help myself to all the amazing fall textures, patterns and colors that were hanging on the racks.
Luckily, most of the pieces I picked up can be worn now. I focused on things that weren't too heavy and that could tolerate the warm temps that are still hanging around Texas.
My favorites?
These track pants from Express that I can guarantee you will be seeing pop up in your favorite stores this season. They are hands down my new favorite trend. I saw several at Nordstrom last week in fab fall colors. I highly suggest you find a pair and give them a whirl.
I have previously professed my kimono obsession here and here. When I saw this ivory one at Forever 21 I knew I had to make it mine. How many ways can this one be worn? A million. Maybe more.
The window pane print is another pattern that I am adding to my closet this season. I am all over this trend. I think it may trump polka dots in the near future. These Joe Fresh pants found at JcPenney's are super affordable and I am hoping to wear them this week.
Last but certainly not least, leather is a big deal again this fall. This top from Express was the first thing I was drawn to when I walked in the store. The beauty is that it's not actually leather. It's made of materials to create an authentic leather look. So, it's a win-win. I am telling you, you will not even notice the difference. The quality is that good.
And if you can keep a secret from Ross, here are a few other goodies I picked up while my mom and sister twisted my arm. I cannot wait to wear the tan skirt of my dreams, some bold lace, a leather cuff of perfection, another scarf (duh), a cream skater skirt for $20 and I think I am finally sold on peplum.
Yikes! Take my credit card now. I am officially on a shopping ban starting now until Christmas!
Please tell me I wasn't the only one that went a little overboard this weekend. What did you get? I need details!
