If you have have been reading my blog for any length of time, you know that I like to wear color and lots of it. I tend to gravitate to bright hues and a mix of patterns; stripes, dots, floral, chevron...you name it.
Sometimes it's refreshing to go back to the basics of neutrals. The colors are simple, classic and streamlined. By incorporating bold accessories (insert whimsical heels and gold accessories), you can create an updated, girly and sassy look. And sassy is exactly how I felt in this style when we went to dinner. I must say, it was kinda adventurous for me to step out of my norm by wearing leather, shorts and fiery heels. I just might muster up the courage to do it again. Remember how we talked about "Just Doing It"?
Anyway, I have good news. Pairing black and white is supposedly one of the hottest and newest trends. Please fill me in. When did this color combo ever go out? Isn't it funny how designers and fashion magazines springboard a trend and then everyone and their moms hop on board, regardless if it's new or something that's actually been around for years? Remember the whole Oxblood trend last fall? Yeah, it's called maroon or bugunday. Or this summer's big color, Chartreuse, which to me is simply a neon green-yellow shade. Who knows. I can't keep up.

It's a little edgy, but girlish at the same time. I never thought I would be wearing leather in Texas during the month of May, but this top is light-weight and even though it's fitting, there is still plenty of room to breathe.
