Thursday was too good to pass up

Total picture overload coming straight 'atcha on this Monday and you know what that means. It means signed, sealed and delivered weekend fun. I have been sharing snippets of my weekend life for thirty weeks now. Yes, this is my 30th recap post. My oh my, time flies when you're having fun.

Excuse the extra day that was added. I couldn't help myself. Thursday was just too good to pass up.

And, the story begins with this...

I know. You are probably so over my jib-jab about the rodeo. I think this is the third or fourth or maybe even the fifth time (I've lost count) I have bombarded you with horses, boots, cowboys and anything else associated with the topic. This should be the last of it; that is until next year. The girls had so much fun and got wrapped up in all the hoopla as much as I did. As they say, like mother, like daughter. They were troopers and made it until the very end of the rodeo and Kevin Fowler concert. Come Friday morning and getting out of bed; troopers they were not. And I do have a little bone to pick with Mr. Fowler, as if he is actually reading this now, but who knows. So, Mr. Fowler, you DID NOT sing "Hard Man to Love". Whaaaa thaaaa? It's the best song you sing. I guess you think you're too cool for it now. We totally thought an encore was coming. We waited and waited and then the arena lights came on. Total disappointment.

Then Friday happened. My girl Becks and I headed northbound on IH35 for the Big D (ya know the one, Dallas) for a girls weekend and a baby shower bonanza. We hit up this new place called Pepper Smash in The Shops at Legacy. OH.MY.WORD. This place is a MUST if you live in the Dallas/Frisco/Plano area. The mixology was out of control. I wanted to order every cocktail on the menu, but I was with two pregnant pretties, so there wasn't enough time. BUT, I did try three. One had a jalapeno kick, one was a little sour and the last was topped with COTTON CANDY. Yes, real life pink cotton candy. I tried to get a picture (see bottom right) but Mr. Server was too fast for my flash. It was DEELISH. The food? Can you say hmmmm....hmmmm....good? And the atmosphere? Swanky, hip, dark, urban, fun and I want to go back. Austin needs a place like this.

Saturday morning came too quick, but I was so excited and giddy to celebrate my other friend named Becks sock monkey themed baby shower. The girls you see in the pictures are my Delta Zeta loves. We have been friends since we were wee ones (wee ones meaning before we were twenty). They are my sisters....forever. So, Becky isn't finding out if she is having a boy or girl. Props to those of you who can wait out that surprise. Since we don't know the sex, it was a gender neutral theme and who doesn't love a little sock monkey here and there? What we DO know is this little bambino cooking in the oven will either be a Delta Zeta legacy or a future Delta Zeta hubs. Either way, it is destined to love some turtles. I love you, Becky! I can't wait to meet Baby Rube and for you to finally join the "cool kid" club of motherhood!

I wanted to share a few cute details of the shower because I know lots of you ladies out their are with child and thought it would provide a spring board of shower ideas. Remember the fascinator themed one last month?

What better way to end the weekend than with the Easter Bunny, miniature ponies, a goat and a baby chick. That's how we roll in our neighborhood. Thank you, home owners association. I am happy to see that our annual dues are spent correctly and effectively. No really, it was a great community event and I absolutely wouldn't want live anywhere else, except maybe in a mansion on the beach in Cabo San Lucas.

Okay, now it's your turn. What were all my BFFs up to this weekend?
